What devices can I use?
Any iPhone, iPad, or Android phone/tablet. One device acts as the baby station (placed near your child) and the other as the parent station (stays with you).
Is my baby's video stored or recorded?
No. Bebamon does not create audio or video recordings by default. The live feed runs in real time over a secured connection, and media is not stored by default.
How does cry detection work?
Sound detection runs on the baby device. The app detects crying or unusual noise, then sends an event and push notification to the parent device; live audio is not stored for detection.
Does it work over Wi-Fi and mobile data?
Yes. It works over Wi-Fi and mobile data as long as both devices have a reliable connection to the service. On home Wi-Fi, the parent phone does not use mobile data.
Can multiple parents watch at the same time?
Yes. Free supports 1 parent device, Plus supports up to 3, and Pro supports up to 5 parent devices per child.
What happens if I lose connection?
You'll receive an immediate push notification if the connection drops. The app automatically reconnects as soon as the network is available again.
Can I self-host the backend?
Yes! The entire backend is open source and can be self-hosted with Docker. When self-hosted, billing is disabled and all features are available for free.
