Free, Plus, or Pro? Comparing plans and how much data they use
Bebamon has three plans: Free, Plus, and Pro. They differ mainly in video, two-way talk, lullabies, and how many devices can stream and watch at the same time. You can create as many child profiles as you need on every plan — the plan decides how many baby devices may stream at once. All plans treat the live feed as real-time monitoring, not as a recording feature.

Which plan is for whom
- Free — when you mainly monitor by ear. You get unlimited audio monitoring, cry and motion detection, and push notifications for free; video is there for a quick visual check (30 s per day).
- Plus — the most popular choice for everyday monitoring. Unlimited SD video, the ability to talk to your baby remotely, lullabies and white noise, and up to three parent devices (both parents and grandparents).
- Pro — for larger families and maximum detail. Crisp HD video, up to four baby devices streaming at once, and five parent devices.
How much data does streaming use?
Sound and motion detection runs on the baby device. The app and backend mostly receive events and related metadata, not a continuous recording of the room. The main data consumer is the live audio and video stream.
The numbers below are estimates. Real usage depends on network quality, codec behavior, lighting, motion in the picture, the selected streaming mode, and whether you use audio only or video too.
| Mode | Typical bitrate | Per hour | Per night (8 h) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audio only | ~30–40 kbps | ~15 MB | ~120 MB |
| SD video 480p (Plus) | ~0.4–0.8 Mbps | ~180–360 MB | ~1.5–2.9 GB |
| HD video 720p (Pro) | ~1–2 Mbps | ~450–900 MB | ~3.5–7 GB |
During normal audio monitoring, the Free plan is close to the “audio only” row. A short video check adds only a small amount of data because it is limited by the daily allowance.
At home on Wi-Fi, you are not using your mobile plan
When devices are connected over home Wi-Fi, you are not using the parent phone’s mobile data. The live stream still needs a working network connection and, depending on network conditions, may use the service’s real-time infrastructure. That is why it is better not to promise that every stream always stays only inside the home network.
Tips to save data
- Use Wi-Fi whenever you can, especially for longer video sessions.
- Keep it audio-only when you just need to listen. Audio monitoring is available on every plan and uses an order of magnitude less data than video.
- Lower resolution means less data. If you just need to keep an eye on things, SD video (Plus) is far lighter than HD (Pro).
- You do not have to watch video continuously. Detection and notifications can tell you when something important happens; open the picture when you need a visual check.
Which plan should you pick?
If you mostly monitor by ear and need video only occasionally, Free is enough. For everyday visual monitoring with the option to talk to your baby, Plus is ideal. And if you want the sharpest picture or you’re watching multiple children, go for Pro.
